My Fitness Must-Haves! + My Shopping Hacks!

Whether you're new to the gym or you just need to freshen up your gym bag, I've got ya covered! Here are some of my fitness/gym bag MUST-HAVES! So I've been an avid gym goer for almost 3 solid years now. When I first started going to the gym, I had no idea what I needed to bring with me, no idea what I actually needed to help my body transform. The truth is, you could do it with NONE of these things, well, except water, ya definitely need water! haha But when you step into the fitness world and decide to transform your perspective on your health, the things you put into your body etc, you get BOMBARDED with ads, infomercials,  bullsh*t information and you get overwhelmed and you have NO idea where to start. I feel you! I was there! You have got to sift through all of the crap, continue hitting the gym and figuring out what YOU need. Everyone is different to a certain extent. Continue reading (there is  A TON of reading involved with fitness and learning all of the ins and outs, get used to it! <3) to see some of my MUST-HAVES, shopping hacks, favorite brands and more!

Pictured above are a few of my favorite things to wear to the gym and some things you'll find within my gym bag.

Gym Tees: I am not a huge fan of wearing loose, baggy tees at the gym. The reason is because when I do my cardio, the shirt gets wet and and then randomly touches my skin and it's cold, and sticky. Hate that feeling! It reminds me of wearing wet jeans. I don't know. Hate it! So I got a TON of these neon tanks from Wet Seal for about $6 or so each, I will RARELY be in a shirt that's meant for the gym. Why?  I find them way over-priced, like everything else in the wellness industry (for the most part)! If you ever see me in a nice gym tee with netting or a built in bra, I got it at TJ Maxx or Ross!

Sports bras I got yesterday, 2 for $8.97! #winning

Sports Bras Hack: Okay, I am part of the I.B.T.C. (itty bitty titty committee) therefore I have found a way around buying expensive ass sports bras. I refuse, REFUSE to pay more than $12 for a sports bra unless it's gonna do way more than cover my boobs. I shop for my sports bras in the little girls section of all large department stores: Target, Wal-Mart, you name it. Yesterday I bought about 8 bras. They were selling 2 for $8.97! And best part? They are in FUN colors!! Yay! #winning

Joggers: These joggers are from Iron Fist Athletic I love the way these look and feel. My favorite part? They have pockets! Yes! You can use my code "KLFIT" for a discount!

Gloves: I'm not too picky when it comes to gloves, but I HAVE to have them!! I am NOT interested in working out without 'em. If you do, you can get gnarly calluses and those just aren't cute on women! On men, kinda sexy... me, not so much. Personal preference I guess. I got these gloves at TJ Maxx for about $5. They've got a great selection of gloves for men and women. I usually shop at TJ Maxx in person, rather than online, the selection is much better. You can also, hit about 12 of 'em to find what you're looking for, they're pretty much on every corner. Thumbs up!

SPF + BB Cream: This is the Perfectionist 4-in-one Cream by Eraclea. This is for those of you that want a little extra coverage at the gym, but don't wanna be THAT girl up in there with 10 pounds of makeup and fake lashes on! I got ya covered! I am new to Eraclea skin care, but so far I am really loving it (like a lot). I didn't think I could love it any more until I got this SPF bb cream. I thought it was just sunscreen for your face, then I squeezed it out and noticed it was beige colored! I applied it to my face and I was shocked to see it covering up a lot of small little blemishes. It's not super greasy either, which is a huge plus, but it does moisturize. It also offers a buildable coverage. I walk to the gym, .5 miles there and .5 miles back, so I spend a bit of time out in the sun, and I like to keep my face covered in spf, this is my new savior! You'd think I was getting paid to promote Eraclea, which would be amazing, but I'm not. I just truly am loving it.

Towel/s: Ya gotta have a towel at the gym. People leave their hair grease and sweat behind on machines, and it really isn't charming. The gym is a cesspool of bacteria, you may as well lessen your contact with it if you can, right? Right! Some gyms will have towels for you, some won't. I also find it very necessary to have 2 towels for cardio. I like to put them on either side of the machine where my hands go. I love doing the stair mill and when I do, my hands sweat horribly, and I don't like the idea of my sweat mixing with someone else's, lol so I must have two towels!! I also don't like my hands slipping off. I am such a weirdo. I know...who want's to be friends?!

Huge Water Bottle (BPA Free): I love this water bottle. It's the only one I've been able to find that is BPA free and holds up to 64oz. I drink 1.5 of these a day. I find it essential to have such a large water bottle with me throughout the day so I can keep track of how much h20 I'm drinking, which is VERY important. Especially if you're trying to lose any kind of weight! Lots of people confuse hunger with being dehydrated. Most of the population is dehydrated and doesn't even know it, crazy huh? Okay, that's a different blog post! Anyways,  I'll make things up if I don't have a huge bottle like, here's my inner dialogue "Okay, you totally had that salad. That had enough water in it, right?" haha Now I can't do that anymore! Kristen 1 - Inner voice 0! LOL This bottle is $8.99 and on Amazon Prime.

Bluetooth Headphones: I'm not saying these are attractive when they're on, but I LOVE these headphones. I've had them for about a year and they still work great. They hold a very long charge and connect to your phone easily. I use them everyday for a couple of hours and I think I end up charging them about 2 x a month, which is amazing considering they're about 1 year old! They were $24.99 too!

Jump Rope: I love having my jump rope in my gym bag because it's a GREAT cardio exercise and really gets you sweating. So that's always in my bag! I have this Nike one, but one of these days I will splurge and buy a Buddy Lee jump rope!

Gym Bag: I find that Iron Fist has some really fun bags that you can use at the gym. I'm all about keeping gym gear fun and exciting! If you like something more muted, Nike has some good ones!

Shoes: These rainbow sneaks are from Y.R.U. shoes! I love these things!! They're as comfortable as they are cool, which I was relieved to find out after wearing them quite a few times. My other favorites are: Nike Air Max + Nike Free 5.0 (I don't really like how the new Nike Free styles fit, boo)

Weight Belt: Of course, I have a hot pink weight belt :P It is not pictured here, but I find my weight belt quite useful for leg day. During squats I find it instrumental in keeping my posture straight and proper without hurting my back. It's not a MUST... but it's pretty high up there.

Shopping Online VS Brick & Mortar: I'm a huge fan of shopping online. My favorite stores for anything to do with fitness are + Often you'll get extra goodies in your Body Building order, which is always fun!

Supplements are definitely important and play a huge role in your fitness routine and journey. I will be creating a YouTube video and blog post about my supplementation routine, opinions of specific brands, my favorites etc. very soon!
